This project was the culmination of roughly a month's work beforehand, which involved designing a character and developing a story. The book cover provided a nice opportunity to explore hand lettering, creating types that worked alongside illustrations and developing a better understanding of how composition affects the mood of a piece.
Craft
Once the illustrations and the type were together for the final product, the next step was to ensure that it would work as a printed object. Careful measurement of an existing book was crucial to the development of the cover. Color correcting a complex illustration and then accurately cutting and folding the piece were crucial for it's completion.
